About the Artist
A Brief History
Linda Zucco’s work draws inspiration from subcultures in Queensland’s 1980s, which were partially adopted from England and influenced by music like The Jam and The Who. Using the bright slightly bleached-out sub-tropical colours of Queensland and juxtaposing the Mod clothing and the surfless beach in Brisbane, Linda’s paintings are appealing.
Vintage scooters and cars are artefacts of place and possess a beauty and style and also a personality. She ponders on where they live, who owns them and where do they travels to.
Things of wheels and sometimes their owners and surrounding are captured between the form stories are told/hinted at.
