About the Artist

Stephen Inglis is an artist who’s work is inspired through local urban landscapes as well as his travel throught Australia, with a focus on Queensland. From mid century inspired architecture, bungalows, and urban scenes of the Gold Coast to the wide streetscapes of Rockhampton, his scenes offer much contemplation, and often with an ethereal dream like quality. His works allow the viewer to forget the rush and bustle of everyday life, revealing the quiet beauty of our surrounds, which often go unnoticed.

Crossing the lines between tonalism and colourist attributes, Stephen captures the momentary moods of these places by using combinations of impressionistic atmosphere and interestingly layered, semi abstract patterns and shapes.

In recent years, his paintings have been held in many private collections throught Australia.
